Have ascertained that the Admiralty having informed themselves upon this subject wrote to this Office to find out if we had any information.

I have referred them to a Letter, Mr Swabey of the 19 Sept. 1846 which states that if the Emoluments of the Judge exceed £50 per annum the proper officers under the Registrar of the Admiralty may be appointed and fees affixed.

With this information the Admiralty were satisfied.

I have the report that this office stated that they did not wish for any change.

His Letter had been seen by the Commons in order to institute his salary, it must have been considered that it was sufficient.

Only emoluments.
